Word of the Day:パイ
パイ・pie
When I saw this recipe, I was very intrigued about how this would taste. My last experience with Earl Grey was a plain-black liquidly orange peel; something the Grinch would drink, for sure; My mom considered it more of a breakfast drink, since she would always eat a pastry with either a cup of coffee or Earl Grey. I was determined to channel my 1/4th British self, and bring some sort of dignity to the idea of tea-pie.
I have always liked chocolate mousse pies, there are so many different kinds of cream pies such as banana, coconut, oatmeal, etc. I felt this was such a floral and light twist on the many renditions of cream pies there are and perfect for a spring time breakfast.
It was quite laborious to make since I am very much a newbie at baking. I went with premade pie crusts to save the time. I let a whole 4 cups of whipping cream go to waste trying to hand whisk it so, I ended up just going to the store real quick to buy cool whip.
I chose salted pistachios in the snack isle, the lightly salted seemed the most appealing as a perfect combo with the slight caramel taste from the powdered sugar and butter that when into the tea cream mixture.

I gave the rest of the pie to my nieces, who hopefully enjoyed it; they came over with tupperware and family gossip. My boyfriend and I were just chilling and eating it before they showed up.
lol, I was so happy then. Yea, everything above this was written several years ago. I was with Yuuichirou and felt lik my life was finally normal. That didn't last long.
I really do like this recipe though. I think it is a good substitute to any sort of any cream pie. Actually it is going to be Easter soon so.. I guess I could make it again if I want to.
I always thought this pie would be perfect for Easter or some sort of breakfast get together thing.
Nat keeps wanting masago and salmon. I told her she has to wait for tomorrow. I ended up giving her a bit more with some pasta because I was cooking anyway.
We're just having a girls hang out I guess.
She's finally resting on the bed. She was sort of avoiding it for a while. i don't know if it was because she found it stinky or if she wasn't tired, or if she felt like she wasn't allowed.
You know, sometimes I make a big deal about being understood, which I guess isn't so important. There are many situations where people don't understand at all but can just vibe.
I mean, it is important to be understood but, I think I have put more importance on that in the past or.. I guess I recognize that is like an anxiety response.
Vibing is perfectly acceptable.
I just want to lay down with the cat but I am also kinda needing to wait until the pasta cools down so I can put it in the fridge and also the next on my TODOs is clean the floor.
She sort of made a mess on the floor with the pasta so.. that is kind of valid right now.
I want to take a shower but I decided to use the dish washer since I didn't feel I had time to wash them by hand right now.
I think the pasta and the juice sort of made me tired.
The juice has magnesium in it and the pasta is carbs... with cheese... and tomatoes... they're all calming foods.
