Adrian and the Diary

Dear Diary,

Well, here we are. I've managed to finally find a way to get my beloved Pandora to be a part of my life. The clinic has said that it was just a temporary breakdown and she needs all the attention I can bestow, so I am technically a part of her life again. No sign of her ex after the news reported on their last spat (it must be nice to have your own plane, a government that looks the other way, and several hidden bank accounts...for now).

I should talk about my parents, Nigel and Barry now. Mum and Dad are happy in the home, and they are also together. They couldn't really afford their own place once they retired and they seem to realize that they only really understand each other. Nigel finally made the big move to the United States and got married! The marriage could not last (I called it, right at the reception), but he is still enjoying that California lifestyle. It suits him, I think.

Barry is the only big surprise.

I now...work for him.

And I have to make sure that these never fall into his hands. He has his political career to consider and he only picked me because - let me sure I get this quote right - 'You are the only git from me past that I trust.' All that humiliation and now the final one with him running for a second term. With all the stuff I took down over the years, I could take him down. It would probably be a big scandal with his family in the spotlight, along with his mistress and her family, too. And that would be the end of it.

Problem is, I still need this work.

No real luck getting an audience interested in my novels, and poetry never sells.

But what about non-fiction? People might want to read about the life and career of a Englishman covering the last forty-odd years. There might be something there.
