I Thought AI Was Just Tools… Until It Changed How I See Problems

Not a story about mastering AI Automation but about unlearning how I used to think.

MY AI AUTOMATION JOURNEY

When I started learning AI Automation, I thought I was just adding another skill to my list. Something technical. Something useful. Something I could maybe use to get a job.

Hmm...I didn’t expect it to challenge how I think.

Week one was not smooth at all.

As a beginner, I found myself doing something I wasn’t used to: like pausing lessons constantly, rewinding videos, and starting explanations all over again. Not because I wasn’t serious, but because my brain was trying to adjust to something unfamiliar.

It wasn’t just about understanding tools. It was about understanding how to think differently.

And that part? That was uncomfortable.

There were moments I genuinely felt stuck. Simple concepts didn’t click immediately. Tasks that looked easy suddenly felt confusing. I started questioning myself ; Am I really cut out for this?

But then I realized something important.AI doesn’t reward memorization.

It rewards understanding. You can’t just cram your way through it. You have to slow down, observe patterns, ask better questions, and most importantly , stay curious even when things don’t make sense.

That realization marked my first shift.

Before this, I approached problems in a straight line: Problem → Solution → Done.

But AI introduced a different approach: Problem → Exploration → Questions → Multiple Possibilities → Solution.

At first, this felt like overcomplicating things. Why not just solve the problem and move on?

But over time, I began to see the value in it. I wasn’t just solving problems anymore. I was understanding them.

One moment stood out to me during the week.

I was working on a simple task, and it didn’t go as expected. Normally, I would get frustrated and either rush through it or give up temporarily.

But this time, I paused.

Instead of asking, “Why is this not working?”

I asked, “What am I missing here?”

That small shift in perspective changed everything.

It made me more patient.

More focused.

More willing to explore.

Another thing I didn’t expect was how this learning started affecting me outside of my lessons. I became less afraid of making mistakes.

I started seeing confusion as part of the process, not a sign of failure.

I stopped rushing to get answers and started paying attention to how I was thinking.

Even in everyday situations, I noticed I was approaching things differently, taking time to understand instead of reacting quickly.

But let me be honest , it wasn’t easy. Learning alone can feel overwhelming. There were times I wished I had someone to immediately explain things when I got stuck. Times I felt behind, especially knowing others might be moving faster. And yes, even now, my assignments are not fully completed. I still go back, relearn, and try again. But I’ve come to accept something important: Progress is not always fast. But it is still progress.

Now, I’m in week two.

I don’t have everything figured out. I’m still learning, still adjusting, still growing. But something has already changed. Not just what I know but how I think.

I no longer see learning as just completing lessons.

I see it as a process of reshaping how I approach challenges, how I handle uncertainty, and how I respond when things don’t immediately make sense. And honestly, that feels more valuable than any tool I’ve learned so far.

Lesson Learnt

I started this journey thinking AI Automation was just another skill. But in just one week, it has already begun to change something deeper.

The way I think.

The way I learn.

The way I approach problems.

And if this is what week one looks like…

I’m excited to see what comes next.

I'm learning, I'm trying and I'm not giving up.
