Halloween Ends

Michael Myers can never look weak. Halloween fans reject this mantra as they reject this with the current Halloween Ends. Laurie should never have over powered Michael. If you are not a complete dumbass you noticed Michael was overpowering Cory; then he finally tripped and fell. I maintain Michael let Cory take the mask. You have to tell us Michael allowed Cory to take the mask. Michael got fucked up by an entire town in Halloween Kills only to slaughter half the fucking town. It also needed to be revealed that Michael was only pretending to be as weakened as he was when Michael killed Cory. This should have been a realization, that he chose hate and carnage over love and healing. An overbearing mother, a town turning you into their boogeyman, and being bullied sucked plenty. It was quite understandable why Cory was upset. However, he was shown plenty of love by his stepfather Ronnie and Allyson. Laurie even helped Cory stand up to the bullies.

This version of Halloween is a failure and a success simultaneously. It was a B* origin story of Cory Cunningham as a serial killer and a D* as a Halloween film. We watch Halloween Ends to see Stacy, Billy, Doug Millaney, and Dr. Mathis die. Also, of course the main one is Terry. A lot of people wanted to see Joan die; I didn’t give a fuck either way. What should have happened was we had Michael killing people all along and Cory watching from afar. He could have made a choice. Be human and get inside Laurie’s granddaughter, or be evil incarnate. At the end, Cory could have killed Joan. The opening of the next film Cory could have blamed Michael and then started his own killing spree. That’s where he could have killed Dr. Mathis, Stacy, Billy, Terrie, and the radio DJ. Ends felt like a remake of the remake.

In Rob Zombie’s movies, we want Michael to kill his bullies. It’s the same thing with Cory in Halloween Ends. We want Cory to kill his bullies as well. This part of the movie was great. It made one mistake. Ruin your Halloween film to strengthen your secondary film. At the very least, they should have revealed that Michael was only pretending to be weak and let Cory take his mask to lead him to Laurie. If this would have happened, then the only problem would have been, letting us feel a greater struggle within Cory. That was whether or not to give into evil or let love and healing in.

Halloween fans were forced to choose between a good Cory killer origin story or a Halloween story. Michael has to be strong. After that I’ll give you room to improvise, but fail to treat Michael as a threat and your Halloween movie sucks. Now a clever trick that Halloween Ends did, that my brother pointed out, involved Allyson. Michael could have killed Allyson in Halloween 2018, but they didn’t. He saw Sartain as a bigger threat and allowed Allyson to live. She came back in Halloween Ends and finished Michael off.
