Some Life Philosophies

It should be helpful

A lot of my happiness comes from noticing spectacles likes this. A Gulf fritillaryy butterfly on passion flower.

I love this quote by Leo Tolstoy. Read and try to follow it.

You are not on this earth to grind hard and prove anything. You are here to appreciate the nature, feel good, and do little acts of kindness, before vanishing from this earth..

We are in the fourth month of the year, and if asked to name anybody person of the year from my perspective, it will be ‘strangers’.

Strangers have enriched my life a lot this year, and I hope they will continue to do that.

They are not actually strangers but people like me with their own struggles, but they decided to give me some empathy and support in my creative efforts, unlike the people I know in real life.

These supportive strangers are people I have earned by public writing and sharing arts across diverse online platforms.

Botanical specimens in a container in the garage.

Here you will see nandina root, fountain bush fasciation, driftwood, feijoa twig, rosemary stalk, among others.

Kids model themselves after the behavior of parents.

No wonder that today, my 3.5-year-old boy identified the Christmas New Zealand tree in the neighborhood, making me proud.

He knows sycamore, Brisbane box, carrotwood, Chinese rain tree, toyon, oak.

It's my wish to take interested kids and adults on plant walks and teach them all about the plants.

Once upon a time, all fragrance needs of people were fulfilled by plants.

People used to be healthy, because there was no hormone disruption.

Artificial scents are poisons. To raise awareness, I had published a full-length article way back in 2017 in 'Medical Hypotheses'. You can read it. Link in comments.

It is one of her kindergarten teacher’s birthday and Sophi, 6, made a 10 pages book as a gift, unleashing her creativity.

It is two of the pages. See her creativity. Art brings joy, no one can deny.

I have people around me, who spend days, planning which theme they will celebrate their kid’s birthday with or where they will take them summer vacation to.

And here a little child in the Middle East is questioning us, with her tear-filled eyes, ‘why the safe childhood was taken away from her?’.

You know refugees never forget the pain of being displaced. A professor who had to leave Iran decades back, was telling emotionally, how they had very peaceful life in Iran. A Lebanese refugee colleague would name the computer passwords with mountains in his homeland.

I see, listen, and feel their pain. If you see the plight of people and turn a blind eye, going your merry way, just wait till your turn comes. Karma is watching, wagon wheel of destiny is rolling.

Doctors come with many specialties, but I divide them as good doctors and bad doctors.

Today I was teaching this concept to my 3.5-year-old son.

A good doctor is the one who saw that I was having trouble delivering the baby, that I could have died, and decided to do emergency cesarean surgery to save both me and the baby.

That is a good doctor, almost like God’s representative.

A bad doctor, to me, is one who recommended strong medicines, steroids for my son’s eczema. She could have been a good doctor if she had asked simple questions: “Could the carpet in your house be the culprit, irritating the skin? Why not try socks as a barrier?”

But instead, she put us in a loop of medicines. I had to figure out the solution on my own for I don’t trust this kind of solution by bad doctors.

One of the nicest colleagues, I have ever got was a Muslim girl, a Palestinian refugee.

The two month I worked with her; she mentored me with complex molecular techniques. At the same time being vulnerable and acting like a balm, as I was anxious about the new job responsibilities and other personal reasons.

One day, our work continued until midnight, as we ran into some technical issue. So, she even invited me to her place. She made me a delicious sandwich. I slept in her living room couch, with her cat hovering around me.

Many years have passed since then, and I think of her with respect. Kindness is beyond religion.
