Why don’t you ever think before you speak? But I do,
and did, I planned to every dotted T. Somehow with
every line conversation keeps diverging increasingly
unmanageably.
What’s the formula?
For healthy conversation
Mine’s pallid and chilled
How am I to install a filter between the mind and
mouth that speaks? When I’m not the one who
maniacally leaps from the carefully scripted speech
I’ve studied and rehearsed. Each subject revised
after every haphazardly launched critique. It matters
not that there will always be more. Another complaint,
one more layer to apply before any are willing to
deem my countenance fit for society.
What sort of filter?
My installation query
Blank stares in response
Instead, I shall retreat to the island of defeat and swim
the shallow seas of silence marinating in my grief.
Letting all my thoughts and hopes mingle with my
melted dreams. I’ll let my environment slowly filter into me,
slowly, transform me into another building block of reality.
Undeniably
Bewitched by humanity
