what was seemly inexorable will meet its end

You'd weave a lie with what was true

knowing those half-truths wouldn't tug at your conscience.

That if you rehearsed enough, you'd believe it didn't happen.

You put on an act until it was ready to be faced,

but it'd visit in dreams when ignored in your wake.

Memories and words found it's way back

inflaming your mind.

Letting it control your reactions and running your depression

one too many times.

Those thoughts will echo

as this was the poison they fed your growing bones.

But now, your body and soul need honesty.

Time to undue what was done and know this to be true:

the voice is not you.

Let the daily cycle run its course and correct it at every broken turn

combat the doubts with candor

and one day when the thoughts try to plague your mind

it will have no hold over you.

Let that peace cleanse your body

and may you never have to lie to your mind to get by

ever again.

The pacing is excellent; each stanza unfolds like a layer of realization. You balance introspection and revelation in a way that feels honest and deeply human.
