Easter Sunrise

Let All Creation Sing

Sunrise on Easter Sunday

Easter

Sunrise service

This Resurrection Sunday

A time for rejoicing

The sun crests the clouds

Symbolising Jesus Christ, shedding grave clothes

Night’s darkness and death are victoriously defeated

Creation joins in praise… birdsong mingles with mine

Swaying pine branches stretch their arms towards the heavens

Hallelujah! What a Saviour! He brings forgiveness and new life.

Looking out across the valley this morning, kookaburras, magpies and lorikeets joyfully chorused, as the sun rose and the full moon set. Returning home after the service, Keith Greeen’s Easter Song took me back to that first Easter morning.

Easter blessings, everyone.

The departing moon.
Pine branches and gums trees lift their limbs heavenward.
