Friend

To war you go little one.

When the sun shines bright and streams run clear.

March you will, to a beat so easy and pure.

That is until, you miss that step.

You take a tumble.

You land real hard.

Before you know it, the road is marred.

The sky will be dark, your heart may sink.

You lost the beat.

They all moved on, marched right past you.

And when you think you’re all done.

A hand reaches down.

Down real low.

It’s your brother, your very best friend.

You had your moment.

The one of rest.

Now get back up.

And join your friend.
