If Love Is Madness

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 6 hours ago 2 min read

I used to walk the straight line,

Kept my heart tucked in its place.

I measured every moment,

Never let my pulse run the race.

Then you came in like lightning,

Turned my careful world into flames—

And suddenly the wildest thing

Was softly whispering your name.

Chorus

If love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

Let me lose myself in the way you breathe,

Let me fall where the falling begins.

If this is the beautiful chaos

That only true hearts understand—

Then if love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

May I never find sanity again.

Verse 2

You make my world tilt sideways,

Make the stars forget their signs.

You turn the ordinary moments

Into something that outshines

Every rule I ever followed,

Every fear I used to tend—

You’re the sweetest kind of trouble

I hope never has an end.

Chorus

If love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

Let me lose myself in the way you breathe,

Let me fall where the falling begins.

If this is the beautiful chaos

That only true hearts understand—

Then if love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

May I never find sanity again.

Bridge

Maybe we’re meant to unravel

Just enough to let love in—

To let the heart go barefoot

Where the wild things all begin.

And if the world calls it foolish,

Let them talk, let them pretend—

I’d rather be lost in your arms

Than found anywhere else again.

Final Chorus

And if love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

Let me lose myself in the way you breathe,

Let me fall where the falling begins.

If this is the beautiful chaos

That only true hearts understand—

Then if love is madness,

May I never find sanity again.

Outro

So take my hand, my wild one,

Let the world spin where it’s been—

If loving you is madness,

Let the madness never end.
