In This Time

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 4 hours ago 1 min read

verse 1

I wasn’t looking for forever

when you walked into my life,

but something in your smile

felt like a memory I’d forgot

You were the place my soul recognized,

the calm in all my storms,

and for one brief, holy moment

I thought love had finally come home.

chorus

But the hardest thing in life

is meeting your forever true love

and realizing they weren’t meant to stay

in this lifetime

in this time.

So now I hold you in the quiet,

in the spaces where the heart pretends,

knowing love doesn’t disappear,

it just waits

until we meet again

Until we meet again

verse 2

We talked like we had centuries

of stories left to tell,

like we’d done this dance a thousand times

From the top of heaven to the bottom of hell

But sometimes souls are just passing through,

leaving light where they have been,

and you were the kind of miracle

that doesn’t come twice in one lifetime.

chorus

But the hardest thing in life

is meeting your forever true love

and realizing they weren’t meant to stay

in this lifetime

In this time.

So now I hold you in the quiet,

in the spaces where the heart pretends,

knowing love doesn’t disappear,

it just waits

until we meet again

Until we meet again

bridge

Maybe love is bigger

than the years we get to share,

maybe every lifetime

gives us one more chance to care.

And if the universe is listening,

I’ll find you in the next one too,

’cause forever doesn’t end

just because I’m living without you.

chorus

But the hardest thing in life

is meeting your forever true love

and realizing they weren’t meant to stay

in this lifetime

in this time.

So now I hold you in the quiet,

in the spaces where the heart pretends,

knowing love doesn’t disappear,

it just waits

until we meet again

Until we meet again
