Overthoughts

I think

By Colleen WaltersPublished about 5 hours ago 1 min read

Hey God, it's just me again

I'm over here overthinking

like I'm getting paid for it

and I'm wondering why

You have white hair

You made us in Your image

so I'm thinking that

Adam was made like Christ

the Son

I see the parallel there

and the Fall caused us to

age and eventually expire

so is gray hair

how we differentiate

between the Father

and the Son?

Older is wiser

Age is irrelevant when

it comes to our lives

and that's why you included

the story of

Ruth and Boaz

an age gap love

that society raises

an eyebrow at

yet You show us time and time again

that age has no bearing

on our lifespan

and sometimes people

still paint

a bleak future

based on age

when tomorrow is a gift

no matter the age

You came in the flesh

to wash the feet of

fishermen and tax collectors

to break bread with

the lowest classes of society

for all to see and

yup

You set society on its head

over and over

like a rockstar

You parted the Red Sea

but You won't part my heart

from its taut strings

someday You'll reveal

that puzzle piece

so for now

I'll just have to trust You

and try not to overthink

my overthinking.
