Someone Else’s Man
I try but can not resist his need

Someone Else’s Man
He walks beside her, yet he strays
his eyes find mine in hidden ways
a look too long, a step too near
a silent want we both can hear
The ring he wears, the vow he keeps
yet in the dark, temptation creeps
he says the words she’ll never know
in shadows where the secrets grow
I never asked, I never planned
to feel the fire of her man
yet here he stands, his breath on me
a storm of what should never be
A danger sweet, a risk too high
a whispered truth, a hungry lie
the world could burn, the price is steep
yet passion strikes, and hearts will leap
So let them judge, let tongues be cruel
desire cares for no such rule
for in his arms, I understand
the bitter want of someone’s man.

You are in a very saucy mood today Maire 😉😉
The pull of temptation and the weight of consequence come through so vividly here.
Friendships in odd ways. Good job,
