The Folly Of Power On Thee

Trembles rock as things shake from the Earth below

It is a touch of something new

Felt deep inside at the origin of all you know

Never has this been something that you knew

---

Shaking it leaves you, deep down and inside

Breathlessness continues for what seems like ever after

A scary feeling making you ponder whether to run and hide

Will you be a much braver one and become the corageous actor

---

Shaking to your core not something easily handled unknowing

It attacks your very being with confusion of an uncomfortable delight

Taken in, these strange sensations leave the lights around you all glowing

But their power shakes you deeply and into a horrendous fright

---

Adrenaline's rush overtakes you

The soft quivers from within build to a feverous pitch

Electrical surges begin to unmake you

Once you feel the strange sensation, deciding not to ditch

---

It all starts so soft and to most, somewhat scary

As the hairs stand up on end

Strange emotions and feelings so contrary

Your very soul is what begins to bend

---

Lost in the seas of green and blue

Every inch of earth shaking from that once safe shore

Slowly, and grazingly, the feelings overtake you

Leaving you both fearing and begging for every bit more

---

The calls of the wild harken thee to come back

Screams for you to embrace your sanity before losing your way

Wild noises eminating from the visceral attack

On each nerve ending causing your heart to give you nothing to say

---

The heat builds beneath you

Rising from the very depths and ravages of hellscapes below

And in all the moments leading up to this time, this was due

Because without it you'd have to live and never know

---

Weight that immense grows into your flesh

Feeling as if pushed down by the weight of your world

Praying not to lead to a life filled with mess

In that moment it feels as if your soul's shining with gold

---

Do you even see

What am I

This is an epic story poem! I especially love the phrase, "Wild noises eminating from the visceral attack." 💜

Hi! I really enjoyed reading your story. The pacing felt very balanced, and the emotional transitions between scenes were handled beautifully. There were moments where I could clearly visualize the framing, almost like cinematic cuts between panels. Your writing naturally creates imagery, and that’s not something every writer can do. I’m a commission artist working in comics and Webtoons, and while reading, I honestly started imagining how a few scenes might look illustrated. No pressure at all, but if you’d ever be curious about seeing a visual adaptation of part of your story, I’d love to connect.
