The Hunger of Your Name
The taste made me want so much more of you

The Hunger of Your Name
I remember the first night we met,
your voice moved through me
like warm smoke in my chest,
I breathed you in
and tasted the heat of your shadow.
You were the secret I wanted,
the mistake I chose without fear,
I let your kiss settle in my blood
and I never wished to be clean,
not even once.
You said love would hold forever,
but forever can turn so cold,
still I followed without a question,
hungry for the sound of your breath
and the promise beneath your whisper.
Each morning you slipped further away,
yet I held on as if fire could heal,
letting the burn sink deeper
just to feel a spark that was real
before darkness took the rest.
I lost the shape of myself in you,
calling the pain something sacred,
and even now in the quiet night
I wait for your ghost to return
and lay its hands on my sleep.

Nicely done, Marie. It made me want to kiss someone. Alas no one to kiss except my little girls, and somehow I just didn't get the same vibe. 😉😉
Nice one!
I like this one. Had to read it twice.
