Do not stand and count the distance,

Do not measure all to come,

The weight of every step together,

Will leave your spirit feeling numb.

There is only what is present,

Only where your feet now fall,

Not the height of distant places,

Not the echo of it all.

The ground beneath holds your story,

Every fracture, every rise,

Every moment you kept moving,

Even when you closed your eyes.

You are not asked to hold the ending,

Not the summit, not the whole,

Only this one living moment,

And the strength within your soul.

Fear will widen every pathway,

Stretch it far beyond what’s true,

Turn a single step before you,

Into something you can’t do.

But truth is quieter than panic,

It does not shout, it does not chase,

It stands exactly where you are now,

And meets you in that place.

There is no need to rush breathing,

No need to carry all at once,

Even mountains rise in silence,

Not in chaos, not in force.

Take the step that waits before you,

Let it land, and let it stay,

Feel the ground accept your weight there,

Feel the fear begin to sway.

Then another, slow and certain,

Not for show, and not for speed,

Just a movement, small and steady,

Built from what you truly need.

And before you even notice,

What once felt too much to climb,

Will stand beneath you, quiet, finished,

Step by step, and piece by time.
