THIRTY NINE STRIPES

Road To Calvary

A redemptive road

only one has traveled

Abba Father’s intentions unravel

for the world to gain their souls,

later retained in Him.

He never chose the

bloody-persecutory-sorrowful road;

meant to mock his kingship

wearing the dressings of sin-

never to have toiled within.

At that hour a crown of thorns,

never raising up his hand;

saying, “ ooh ooh I’ll do it”,

frankly it was all apart of Gods

sovereign plan.

Every stripe up to thirty-nine

lashed on his body, settling

the proverbial line of unrighteousness -

drawn in the sand of sin

never worn or scorned;

eleventh hour feat,

predetermined judgement

of mankind’s defeat -

a title reset the ultimate sacrifice.

a cup of misery drank

by him and him alone.

- He’s Sweet I Know -

A self-less act of love

only he could bear,

a daunting assignment.

He was raised to be

lifted up; placed on high

seated at the right hand

of the Great Divine -

No other deserves that honor.

The son of the only wise

and true Living God.

This act of love was not a

fabricated story or to make us feel good.

Only to show His glory.

It’s Gods strategic plan

of no greater love than

a man who laid down his

life; on a hill called

Gilgal by Heritage.

Unearthed later as Calvary

another place situated

on that same hill;

established 2000+ years

ago. Setting mankind free.

Receiving the gift

-a token of loves destiny,

turned testimony

for all to find.
