Tide

funny how things change, ebb and flow,

finding the stasis we resist,

this paradox of sameness and changing,

eternal as the ocean, one unique wave

following another, crashing

into recession, laughing back

from the sand, eventually

carrying themselves back to the deep,

leaving pools of tide on

empty beaches, where fiddler crabs

skitter over the jellyfish

who never learned how to stay

in the flow, beached, abandoned

to desiccate in the sand,

carried back to sea

when the tide returns.

Story of my life right now. So beautifully written. It just ebbs and flows like the tide! Wonderful.
