What the Infinite Time Loop in “Palm Springs” Can Teach us about the Current Pandemic
Let me set the scene: It won’t be hard since we’ve all been there—some cocky, smirking white boy approaches you on the day of your sister’s wedding and “accidentally” gets you embroiled in his drama. And your really can’t refuse because, as I’ve mentioned, it’s the day of your sister’s wedding (and since this is like the fourteenth month of the pandemic you’ve probably re-watched the Godfather at some point, right?), and also because as a feminine presenting person you’ve involuntarily internalized the aspects of the patriarchal system of which you are indelibly intertwined. All this is to say, you’re used to doing all manner of emotional/ existential/ theoretical physics-adjacent labor for men who think they are too cynical and cool and quirky to actually give a damn.

Scavenger
I know you like shiny things, so I try to bring them to you when I can. However, it’s gotten harder to find things on the ground. The world has long since gone back to its mother. Nature is beautiful until it’s overbearing; till it’s overwhelming, and if anything can be said about the growth that has taken control of your former world, over seems like a good start. The green grew seemingly overnight. It is taking over the metallic man-made landscape of your city. So now I have to scour the land from my station up in the sky, wind bristling my sable feathers, to find you anything proper.

Setting The Table
Pandemic has been a whirling teacup in all our lives, flinging us wildly along a trajectory between terror and delight. It has been horrible to be stuck at home, unable to attend conventions, and see our compatriots in person. It has been wonderful to have so much access to brilliant online events and have the chance to interact with members of the community that have never before been able to attend those same conventions. These conflicting gravities have also exposed the fissures in our systems for granting awards and celebrating their recipients.

Yu-gi-oh! Attributes Chapter 1: The Attack of Blood Drake
I do not own Yu-gi-oh! It belongs to its respective owners. Somewhere in the run-down section of New Domino City, there is an abandoned warehouse, which supposedly houses the most dangerous duelist alive. He goes by the name of Blood Drake and he doesn’t duel for fun. He duels for keeps. If you’re not careful when near him, you will most likely end up like all his other victims. Speaking of which, here comes another unfortunate soul seeking to duel the dreaded Blood Drake.
