Lake Mercurial
He watched his wife in disgust, her swollen belly obvious under the loose dress she wore. How dare the bitch get pregnant. He had made sure she took her pill every day so that this wouldn’t happen. Yet, here they were; and something had to be done about it. Adrenaline and anger surged through his veins. Under the guise of a romantic, midnight picnic, he had lured his wife to the banks of Lake Mercurial. So named due to its temperamental nature, Lake Mercurial was a mystery, a place where unexplainable things happened; like the odd multicoloured balls of light that could sometimes be seen hovering over the surface of the water, or the churning waves that randomly brought the still surface to life even when there was no wind. Even the occasional water spout and whirlpool had been sighted, right out in the middle of the lake. It was the perfect spot for him to put a stop to the madness plaguing his life. He doubted anyone would question him if it happened here. He could just palm it off as an accident caused by the unpredictable lake.

You should’ve distrub the graves
There’s an old abandoned haunted house that has just of an old abandoned pond behind it. People think it’s the house that you need to be worried about but instead it’s really the pond. The house was built first in 1805 and the pond was built much later. People say that families have kept dying over the years of drowning especially after the pond was made. This pond is always foggy and it’s always been creepy. There are so many theories about this pond. That a family dug up a graveyard to make it. The Jones built the house in 1805 but over the years being hot and they wanted something fun for their children. Jack and Rita the family had lived in this house for years. In 1820 they were able to build this pond the reason they took so long was because they built the house in front of a graveyard. A family graveyard no less, fortunately where they built the house the graveyard didn’t get disturbed. However, wanting to build the pond they would have to dig up the graveyard and distrub it. The wife Harrietta was against all of this said, “Frank, there is no way I’m allowing you to disturb our family graveyard. It was close enough with the house but I will not allow you to make a pond.” Frank was upset and distraught about this because all he wants to do is make his children happy. He’s been wanting a pond in the back yard for the children because of how hot it’s been. It’s been over 100 degrees everyday in the Louisiana heat. Harrieta let him know that they didn’t have to man power to help and the money has been scarce the mills are almost done and Frank will be out of the job soon. Frank said, “I’ll be getting a promotion the mills are fine. I also don’t like my children seeing so much death. A graveyard is no place for a child.” Harrieta stay, “well you should have thought about that before building a home by the graveyard.” Frank, then gets upset saying, “ we had no choice it was a cheap lot and we needed a home. This is our family home near my families graveyard. We can move the bodies and the graveyard else where.” Harrieta felt scared of the thought her pale features became even more pale like she saw a ghost, her red lips went pale, and her green eyes went black. “Are you serious?” In disgust. “ We cannot move the bodies and the tombs stones somewhere else that is just insane.” “I will not be apart of that or allow it.” Frank said, “well, it is my family graveyard so I’ll do what I wish with it. I already made up my mind it’ll be done tomorrow.” Harrieta in fear, sadness, and shock looked at him turned then walked away.

“The Haunting At Lookout Lake”
“Lookout Lake is one of our towns few tourist attractions so we don’t often talk about it’s history with outsiders!” the librarian said loudly in what was almost a scream then quickly covering an embarrassment caused red faced mouth with one hand due to the volume. Right then I knew I was on to something. I asked to see any information they had and trembling from either fear, old age, or both the librarian led me to the back where old microfilm machines and rotting newspapers were and provided me with a pile of information to sort through. I had just acquired the property from an online auction and was surprised at the low price and wanted to learn more about it. By the librarian’s reaction I knew then I was about to learn more than I’d bargain shopped for.

An Unforgiveable Act
Can you hear me? Am I loud enough? Am I as loud as a banshee? Do I rattle your soul? You thought you could break me. You thought it would quench your darkness. But little did you know, this power you feel inside you, is not power, it's weakness.

The Queen of the Unliving
"What is a novice of Kirshara doing standing at my doorstep?" The Seer demanded. "Your order has no love of my kind." The Seer was said to be blind, and those milky white eyes certainly seemed to confirm that, but those eyes were locked on me and it felt like they were staring into my soul. She was dressed in a simple gray robe, and holding a sturdy looking cane that probably knocked a head or two. The Seer’s wrinkled face indicated she wanted to do so now

The Party
James got the invite from Phoebe, who if he was being honest, he always thought was a bit of a weirdo. He was pretty sure she was around the same age as him, at least he assumed, she went to Redwood Community college just like him and she looked fairly young. He wouldn’t place her any older than twenty. She was attractive in a mousey sort of way, but he had heard around the school that her whole family were a bunch of religious nuts. So, when she stopped him after biology to invite him to a party he was surprised, to say the least. When she said that it was being held at Camp Firefly, he almost fell over. Camp Firefly had been a summer camp in the eighties, located in the forest outside of town, right on the shores of Lake Browin. It closed down years ago, so she and her friends would be trespassing. Maybe she wasn’t such a wet blanket after all.

The Pond
We moved into this house about a week ago and from the start the entire place seemed odd. An old creaky house, near a dark pond and in the far corner of the yard next to some trees was a single gravestone. A name that was so faded you couldn't read it but the date was eerily clear, it read 1670 -1677. I asked my grandfather about it since the land previously belonged to him. He told me the story of a little girl who lived there long ago and who had drowned in the pond.
