The Daring Dreamhouse
Every single person has a dream of a forever home. A forever home is a place that we want to spend the rest of our lives living. This is a secure place where the rest of the word can not harm or touch us. Sometimes our dreams of that home expand out to a bigger area as we grow older. If someone were to ask me as a kid what my dream home would be then that would be a very different answer than I would give now. The person that I have grown into over the years has that dream expanded out to reach the place I would like it to reach. My dream home is another world altogether of its own.

My Little Dream Home
I decided to take up the Dream Home challenge because it's something I think about a lot. The picture above is a Vision Board I made recently just for fun. When I became disabled (I'm not in a wheelchair, but I'm nearly housebound for a variety of reasons) I wound up moving to a small place that had belonged to my grandparents, then my parents, and when they died, it became mine. It's located in a remote area of Eastern Kentucky on land that has been in my family since the 1800s. I'm on a mountain next door to my closest family, though I only see them a few times a month when I happen to be outside as they bring my mail up from the road. I love it here most of the time, but the structure has seen better days and now that I'm alone and on disability, things are going steadily downhill. If I had unlimited funds, I'd hire a professional crew to clean it out, reinforce the floor and fix the leaky roof. New siding would be nice, too. Plus I need a new back door because a bear damaged mine trying to get in one night. (It nearly succeeded!)

The cabin of my dreams
Nestled between rolling green hills and a sparkling lake full of color and life, surrounded by trees and natural light, my dream would be a small wooden cabin there. Sitting several meters in the back yard a garden full of vegetables and fruit trees would bring tonight's dinner. A small patio provides the perfect spot to sit and drink a hot cup of coffee or Indian chai. The organic sounds of nature flowing around me bring peace to my home, soul, and mind.
