How Dying Saved My Life
Peter Pan, a boy who never grew up and never wanted to grow up, said once that dying would be a big adventure. Who knew that at the age of 24, he would be right. It’s not something we think about everyday—unless you’re me and think about it more often than not. What would happen if I died? Would anyone be sad? Would anyone attend my funeral? Would people who pretended to like me regret being rude? It’s everyday thoughts like these that have me thinking about the what if’s. I know we all have them, but I remember one particular moment away from these thoughts that saved my life.

How Bullet Journaling Helped Me
A few weeks ago, I started bullet journaling. I first stumbled across the idea in one of my Facebook groups. It really intrigued me, but I didn't have the inclination to start journaling. After a rough patch, I decided to give it a try. I looked at various pictures of examples of bullet journals online and I decided to try a modified version. A true bullet journal can be very detailed and I didn't think I could commit to that on a daily basis. I saw some pictures of really cool ones with stencils and lots of colors. People also wrote goals for each month and inspirational quotes for each day. I also saw ones that looked like a day planner with special events written down.

The Importance of Signs
Too often we overlook the importance of signs. Which signs, you ask? The ones that present themselves to us from a higher source. Bear with me—this doesn't have to be a religious or spiritual post. I know that can be a touchy subject and not everyone necessarily "believes." If I were to really dive deep into the topic of "believing" in something, anything, I'd say the most important thing to believe in (besides God) is YOURSELF! Your higher source could be different than mine and I'm not here to negotiate that. There are so many things we can do to make life so complex. Things won't always make sense or line up in our favor. Most of the time we will feel like we're going against the current. That's because we find ourselves resisting things that have presented themselves for our highest good.

Let Them Be Uncomfortable
The less you worry about what other people think of you the better everything will become. Of course, it is natural to be self-conscious during those awkward teen years, but the less you care about what others think about you the happier you will be. Wear what you want, give your opinion, and express yourself however you want! Just be yourself! If everyone on Earth was the same, the world would be a very boring place. It is your job to bring something unique to the world. Just be whatever you want to be. Be smart, be confident, be kind, be sensitive, be a badass. Just be unforgivably yourself because you are an amazing person, and there will never be anyone else who is like you.

Making Ends Meet
I think we all long for the days in our childhood when we had no concept of what money was. We didn't understand how much food costs. We didn't understand how much hydro and heating and water cost. We didn't know that gas prices would one day be the bane of our existence.

Clarity
I'm grown now... All my life I believed being an adult was independence and the choice to be free. Being able to make your own decisions and living up to them because you made them whether they were good or bad. Now this is all true, but as I grow, I'm learning that I'm consistently growing and with that there's so much more to this thing we call the "adult life."
