How To Be Successful
Growing up I was always told that inorder to successful in life you need to have money. Money is what makes the world go round and you can buy tons of things. You want a swimming pool well you need money for that. However in this day and age most of us will need a college degree.

IT’S THE CLIMB
I often find myself talking about very raw subjects. The reactions I get from others can be concerning, some have even interpreted my views as negative and said to me, “you shouldn't be so negative.” I found this merely insulting, “ me negative?” Sometimes we need to reflect on these things to truly understand ourselves and others.

10 things I have; discovered, thought about, done, saw + learned, during QUARANTINE.
1. Skin care routine. I've had bad skin as far as my teenage years. I've been on and off with different treatments. It also depends what food i consume daily. During quarantine, I've stuck consistently with one line of products, drank lots of water, and watched what I've ate, as well as working out frequently...and sleeping well. Slowly my skin's getting better and clearer. Thank you, skin care routines from Youtube.

Creative to Leader
From a young age there was a creative side to me. There were many different hobbies I had which changed. It all started really with something simple as drawing. I would do just about anything that would come to mind. Most of the time it would have to do with nature. Roses were my favorite flower to draw over and over again. Then also some animals like wolves, horses, and random ones.Another creative aspect that I love is music. Throughout my whole school years choir was another outlet for me. Just singing would always but me in a better mood. All my troubles would just go away for the time being. As I was growing up trying turn both these things to more than just hobbies was a goal. All was said to me is, "Go to school, that will set you for life." I agree with that, but also wanted something else. Then e-commerce crossed my path.

Being Queer and Living With a Disability
For many people, being LGBTQ+ can still be challenging, as many countries criminalize queerness. It is also hard to live in a world where sometimes we feel that everything is set up straight, which can damage the mental health of many queer people. Research has shown that LGBTQ+ folks are more susceptible to mental health problems than heterosexual people due to a range of factors, including discrimination and inequalities.

I Just Got Drafted
I feel like I just got drafted. Saying that, I’m swept with a coalition of feelings; joy, anxiety, accomplishment, and motivation. But I don’t want to say it. As an athlete since pretty much birth, to say you’ve been drafted is a glorious statement above all others, an accomplishment that puts you in a league above all else. I’ve dreamed day and night of that type of achievement.

When Has One "Arrived?"
So, I was pondering this question, in the wee hours of the morning, around the 4 o’clock hour, as I was placing homemade ham broth into containers for freezing - when do you know if you have “arrived?” It only introduced more questions that needed answers. So I decided inquiring minds such as mine might also be delving into the corners of their minds, swirling these odd thoughts, interested in the answer and decided that I would propose this question to the Universe (or whomever happens to stumble upon VOCAL and decides to take a gander at my writing.)

Hospitality Motivation
What keeps me motivated after a 10 hour shift at work talking to guests all day, and making sure all 884 rooms are properly cleaned for our resort guests? Motivation comes from having a passion for what you love, a passion for what you do, I knew I had a passion for hospitality when I started college and did my first internship on a riverboat. That motivation continued onto my next 3 hotel internships before going into my manager in training program in this beautiful 884 Palm Desert Resort. When I first started I was terrified, I was in the hardest department, housekeeping with a new team and living on my own. I had high endurance due to my internships which were 10-16 hours shifts but never at this big of a property.

The Art of Life
I just sit there. Thinking, planning, imagining doing things. Things like dancing, exercising, painting. Big things too, like travelling, acting, being famous. I feel inspired, to do things, be someone, to share my story, to be me. And as I sit here, I plan. I plan things that I will do, things that I will learn, things that I should improve and how to improve them, and for once, I am one, I am one with my passion.
