Thankful for the Lions
The Lions on TV and Thanksgiving Day, it's a tradition that families across America have come to know across the years. As a football fan, I love watching all games, no matter the teams playing, and Thanksgiving day is no different for me. First, a little history into how the Lions started playing on Thanksgiving and why it's important. It all started in 1934 when then owner George Richards, who also owned a radio station affiliated with NBC Blue network, negotiated a contract to broadcast the teams games on Thanksgiving across 94 stations across the country. The Lions were playing second fiddle to the Detroit Tigers when it came to "sports notoriety" in that era so Richards chose to have his team play on Thanksgiving hoping to draw a bigger crowd to his team. Teams had played on Thanksgiving before, but because of his radio station he was able to get a day where the whole nation heard his football team, and only his team, it was a smash hit. The Lions not only sold out their stadium the first year that they played this game, they had to turn people away at the gate. It was a losing effort against the Chicago Bears, but it became a new team tradition.

REVIEW Week 10 #MoorePicks
So another week of NFL games is gone. It was my best week so far, and there’s still a little room to improve. Week 10 produced down-to-the-wire games like the Lions vs Washington game, and beautiful blowouts like the Buccaneers vs Panthers game. It also produced a lot of W’s for me. Let’s get into the review.

MoorePicks Week 9
SUNDAY GAMES @ 1:00 BRONCOS VS FALCONS PREDICTION: 24-14 I picked against the Falcons last week, and lost. But I’m going to do it again. I really don’t think they pick up two wins two weeks in a row, and this Broncos team, who had a rough out-of-the-gate schedule playing the Titans, Steelers and the Buccaneers, are in a rhythm. They’re 3-1 in their last 4 games, that loss coming to the Chiefs.

Documentary Review: 'Maybe Next Year' For the Love of Eagles Fans
Maybe Next Year is a love letter to the fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. This documentary from director Kyle Thrash could not be more loving and endearing toward some of the most vocal, colorful and controversial fans on the planet. To say that fans in Philly have a reputation is an understatement but that’s not what Maybe Next Year is about. Instead of being a lengthy, hand-wringing lament of what Philly did to Santa Claus, Maybe Next Year is just about the Super Bowl and the fans so desperate to see a Super Bowl win in their lifetime.
