The Power To Be Great

A Story of AUTHORity

By We the PPULPublished about 14 hours ago 3 min read

There are many stories about Authority, Goddess of script writers and scribes. What stays consistent in most tellings is her powers to realize.

"Anything she wrote became so. And as long as the writing remained intact, whatever she wrote remained so."

So it was written:

I author sayings. I author stories. I author songs.

I author origins, journeys, and destinies.

Whosoever wields a magic wand,

The words etched will be given body and breath by me, Authority.

The Gold Sisters

Authority first learned of her powers when she began writing down the songs and sayings of her older sisters, Authenticity, Goddess of singers and song, and Autonomy, Goddess of speakers and speech.

Anything Authenticity sang, became so. Anything Autonomy spoke, became so.

So when Authority first wrote down some of her older sisters songs and speeches, they noticed an immediate change. Not only did their utterances come true, they became more real. Materializations now remained where previously they disappeared as soon as the echo of their last sound faded. Their reality held more firmly together in the physical plane.

Autonomy

Later, while writing down some of Autonomy's words, they learn Authority's power extends to ideas. You see when words are written down, they're easier to perceive. More senses are involved. The words are heard and seen.

When you can clearly see and review what was said, it's easier to see what was NOT said.

Ideas and beliefs, embedded underneath the surface and between the lines often go undetected at the speed of conversations. Words are often lost and forgotten at a conversations end. But when committed to writing, those unspoken, unnamed, unrecognized ideas become more clearly visible.

Being able to read herself, Autonomy could keep track of what she'd spoke, or misspoke. And if she didn't like the results, it allowed Autonomy to rethink and reword herself.

Authenticity

A great discovery was learning how those powers extended to new words. When she sang, Authenticity would often sing sounds instead of words. She would tell Authority, 'they feel better even if they don't always make sense.'

Authority would write these sounds down and something both subtle and substantial could be seen and felt. A shift in the elements. A bend in reality.

One day while playing with words, she had an idea for a new word. She couldn't yet perfectly explain what the word meant. But the word felt good. Intuitively it made sense.

Hesitant of what might materialize, but not wanting to forget the word because she liked the ideas they inspired, she remembered a note she had previously written to herself. A note she regularly had to remind herself of:

Anything created, can be recreated. Anything written, rewritten.

I can rewrite stories, sayings, and songs.

I can rewrite ideas and beliefs.

To which she added:

I can rewrite words.

Authority

Reassured of her abilities, she inscribed this new word onto a fresh scroll. As she began to write, the elements began to shift, reality began to bend, a whole new world began to take form. And right along side this emerging world she also began to transform.

Authority, Goddess of script writers and scribes, also became Goddess of word+smiths and world+smiths.

This revealed to the Gold Sisters, Authenticity, Autonomy, and Authority a great power they all shared:

When we create new words, we create new worlds.

With her songs, Authenticity continued giving worlds feeling and flow. With her speech, Autonomy continued giving worlds freedom and focus. With her script, Authority continued giving worlds fortitude and form.

In the process of enlivening worlds, they demonstrated perhaps the greatest power of them all. Empowering each other and all those who inhabited the worlds.

And so we too have the power to rewrite stories, sayings, and songs.

We can rewrite ideas and beliefs.

We can rewrite words.

And when we create new words, we create new worlds.

I share this power with you, as great people shared with me. May you continue to relay this power onward. And as you do:

How will you rewrite (hi)stories?

How will you rewrite script(ure)s?

How will you use your AUTHORity?
