The Walk
March 31, 2009 It started off like any other Tuesday. 5:44 a.m. and the music starts blasting. Sharon sprung up, turned the coffee pot on, and proceeded to the bathroom for her shower. After that, she wakes up her fiancé, Don, followed by her 3 year old son, Mikey, for a quick breakfast before they all run out the door for the day. She has to take Mikey to the sitter, Dana, and drop Don off at work before going into the bank to start her own work day. Dana, who is also Don's sister, was Mikey's babysitter at the time. She was a total lifesaver.

Death in the Ravine
I grew up in a small, lively neighbourhood boarding our city’s river valley. Until I was 12, I lived in a little white bungalow, blocks from the ravine where my parents used to take my little brother and me for walks, or to meet up with other family’s to spend hot afternoons splashing in the creek. I wandered the maze of paths that weaved through the forest of trees, playing with friends when we were old enough to go off on our own, or sometimes alone. I thought walking through the woods was an adventure, that each turn could lead to something unexpected. On nice days the pathways were crowded with people out walking or biking, but other days it felt like I had a whole forest to myself. Filled with possibilities.

The Crime Drop and Low Crime Rates
Module #1 Assignment/ The Crime Drop and Low Crime Rates Lydia Cruz The empirical evidence tells us a lot about what is happening with crime each year by showing an approximate percentage of the crimes committed. The empirical evidence changes every year that surveys are entered by police or other poles. These statistics are not whole heartedly true because a lot of crimes do not get reported. There are different diagrams you can look at depending what types of crimes you are looking for and by locations. For example, in the second chart, given to us in our first module, it shows us that crime in America has decreased though this is only information that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has collected from precincts. The crime drop in the 1990’s can be blamed on few factors like under reporting of crimes actually committed along with other reasons.

Playing Games
Playing games was beneath Hugo Rangel. He lived by a code – that code included ethics, morals, taking responsibility, manning up! So when he watched Vinny Montague squirm whine and attempt to lay blame on a scrupulously honest woman and drag her into the mix and entwine her in his actions, he was livid.

The VW Speed Collectors
I can’t believe what I’m seeing. It is almost too fast to understand. I’m in the parking lot of a Target Store in San Jose, CA. It is 8 pm on a Thursday. We are at least a two-hour drive away from Oakley, CA with good traffic. “Never steal one within thirty miles of where you live. That’s the fucking golden rule,” a guy the gang calls Cooter says.
